For those of you that know this area, this report will mean something to you. My friend, Jim Ferguson has sold his house in Lake-of-the-woods, VA and is moving to Jacksonville, FL. Yesterday he called and wanted to bring his bike down and leave it at my house until I could trailer it down to FL for "Bike Week". He started down my way and I took off to meet him in Lexington, VA. I jumped on the GTS and left here with the temps in the high 30's and headed down Route 460 then up 219 to Union, WV. I followed 3 out of Union over to 311 then 159 to I64 on in to Lexington. Jim showed up about 15 minutes later and we headed on to Buena Vista, VA to see a friend for a few minutes and then up route 60 to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The temps had warmed and it was one of those GREAT motorcycle days. We headed south on the parkway for about 70 miles to hit 460 just outside of Roanoke, VA. Took route 220 north to I81 and then 311 north to New Castle, VA were we turned left on route 42. It is a great but short climb up to an overlook where we stopped for a few. We continued on south for about another 40 miles to hit 460 again at Newport, VA. We followed 460 on in to Princeton were, on the last turn to the house, Jim got a flat rear tire. Bummer but very close to home so no problem. Anyway, over 300 miles of some of the best motorcycle roads around here on a perfect day. Ya gotta love it....
