California is only interested in getting their money..if they can't do that
from ya, then you'll do time.
Actually, What I would try and is really your only option.  Go to the DMV, go
directly to the (can't remember their title) the head person there.  Ask for
an appointment because you have a concern that only they can help you with.
Once you get in...make sure you have all the documents in front of you that
pertain to this.  Like the old insurance records..show them you where and
when you canceled the insurance because you Sold it.  You have to convince
this person that your concerned, your trying to do something about it, you
have evidence showing you did not own the bike at that time.
