John, your comments on the HID light, and Dual Bulb Headlamp, were well stated.

Since Dave Biasotti installed my HID lamp, I've ridden at night in and around the Bay
Area, and not a single, caged passerby has flashed it's lights. It's more light, but
it's not offensive (IMHO).

One other comment, I got interested in an HID light when I received glowing
recommendations from the long distance riders group. For me, I greatly value the
input and opinions of the guys on this list that ride a hell of a lot of miles (e.g.,
Roger, John L., Dave Biasotti, etc.). I don't think it can be disputed that those
guys are kinda twisted, but they have incredible real world knowledge and experience
about what really works and doesn't work (depending, of course, on your riding style).
(Obviously, RSR and Hawkins are also in a league of their own.)

Bottom line, in my opinion, an HID light is worth considering IF you find yourself
riding much at night and you have the cash. If you don't ride a lot at night, I
wouldn't recommend spending the money. For me, I ride at night (and faster than I
should), so I want a really good lighting system (as well as good tires and protective
gear).

Depending on the cost, I'd be interested in the Dual Bulb headlamp.

John, please let us know of your impressions when it get it all installed.
