I'm kind of surprised that nobody (so far in my reading) bothered to go to
Kawi's web page to check things out:

Current model (2002) is a Ninja 500R -- a PARALLEL twin, as have been all of
their 500 cc bikes no matter what they were called.  If you can get a used
500EX you'll get a hell of a nice little bike.  Same with the Suzuki GS500E.
I would imagine that there are lots of accessories for these bikes, but I
can't imagine that putting a windshield on the Suzuk would be all that
difficult.  In fact if you cruise over to Suzuki's web page, they have a
list of accessories for the GS500.
