1) make sure the clip is in the grooves completely
2) make sure it faceds the correct way
3) safety wire the B--tard!

Thanks, Mike.  I wasn't sure if just flaring the posts was enough.  I've
had a clip come off, but the side plate didn't. Since then I've used a
dot of silicone, and no problems.  But I hear that the chain
manufacturers are moving away from the clip-type master links.
