I wasn't at Daytona today but watched a great race
on Speed channel. Anyway I was at the Cycleworld
show at Daytona on Sat.and saw the FJR at the Yamaha
tent. Sitting on it felt lighter than my GTS,but it
was dry .I hope they come out with optional bar
heights because the bars were about an inch or two
too high for me. I might feel different after a ride.
There was a vendor, I think it was GIVI who had
an FJR on display all tricked out. It looked great
and showed the potential for this bike. It had the
wheels polished, Olhins remote rear and a D&D exhaust
slipons. The tone comming from those D&D's was deep
and throaty.
Next I checked out the new Honda ST 1300. I can't
wait for a magazine sport tour shootout because
the Honda for me looks so much better built.
Better looking and better fit & finish. I suspect
though that the FJR will be the choice for the
SPORT oriented guys and the ST for the more TOUR set.
