I bought a used red 93 last summer. I am going to take it to the dealer for service tonight (Yamaha World in Roswell, GA) to have the "fluids" and the front tire changed.
So far so good! With the great instructions found on this mailing list, I conducted a static test to find out whether my ABS is still working. Of course the test failed. So I told the dealer that they should plan on replacing my ABS HU under warranty. They service Manager told me: As far as he knows, there are no more such parts available. More then a year ago, they had a similar case and there are now more part available, "not even in Japan". I thought ok - lets go directly to the guys in Cypress,CA (number found in several of privious list-emails). I found out that the subject has been turned over from Jordan Kavanagh to Richard Kaplan in Custumer Relations. He gave me a devastating answer: "The last available unit was replaced under warranty beginning of this month, I am processing the paperwork right now." Richard promissed to check further on the availability of a replacement HU units. He told me to give his number to the dealer tonight and have them contact him. I will keep you updated once I learn more. Question: Is there any risk involved to drive around with a non-operational ABS? I hope not! How many GTS are there in the Atlanta area?
