For Many of those interested;
I had an extended talk with Curt Jordan and Jordan Engineering today
about getting more power out of our fuel injected motors and has very
confident that with more compression and some port work coupled with exhaust
and airbox modifications he can make big gains on these motors. In the past
we have talked about some possibilities with the one question as to whether
the fuel injection would adjust enough. Well, the former owner of dynojet
has just developed a box that goes inline from the stock ECU to the fuel
injectors and interrupts the signal and sends out a new signal to the
injectors telling it to give more or less fuel then the stock signal. There
are three different settings for low speed mixture, midrange mixture and high
speed mixture so it can be fine tuned.
Now, for you guys that dont know of this guys reputation with motors and
setting them up to work as a whole package not just for max power he is THE
MAN. Just an example. A guy I know has a YB11 which is a 97 YZF motor.
Stock HP is about 125 at the rear wheel and about 72ft torque. He had Curt
put in a 6 spd, stock pistons, increased compression 1 point, port the head,
valve job , new intake cam of Curts chosing (i think it was a YZF750 intake
cam) . The owner of the bike could not believe the bike as a package. 155hp
at the rear wheel, 80ft torque and this was on a stock bore. The owner could
not believe how smooth and ridable the bike was. He also kept the airbox
and did some modifications to it. I guess my point is that this guy is very
good.
Anyway, it was a bright spot in my day.

Bob
