On the Check Engine Light issue, check the oil first. As per previous
threads, these bikes consume oil.

On the ABS issue, is your battery strong? These bikes are prone to showing
error codes and flashing lights on weak batteries.

I would start with those two options first.

Subject: Service Question?

I haven't opened the service manual yet so take it easy on me. Yesterdays
Rally Poker run for our church was great fun. Cold (48F), windy (30 mph),
but I pulled into the final stop and drew a full house (good for second
place)....ok to the point already. During the ride the check engine light
came on twice during heavy engine braking and would glow until I gave it one
rev to about 3000 rpm.....normal? Second, dry road conditions, approaching
gas station to re-fuel apply moderate brakes, ABS light begins to flash,
shut down at pump light does not come on the rest of the day.....any
suggestions?
