Daren, No, the ride I and Hawke are doing is called the '02 Rendezvous and starts in Mexico on June 3rd. Although, Hyder is one of the bonus locations on the ride so we will likely be there later in the week. I'll let you know after the ride how all the "stuff" works, as anything before is just short day or eqpmt trial runs. Yes, the Hawke oiler is an electric pump, but because of it's low volume I'm adding a timer circuit to keep the power on for predetermined time. I'm planning to just tap and drill a hole in the oil filer cap to add a tube fitting. Haven't actually installed yet, still collecting materials. -- Dave Biasotti // Fremont, CA

I was thinking that would be a good idea also. It's a real PITA topping up the oil every other fuel stop. Not to mention embarrassing! Let us know how you did it and how it works out. Is the Hawke oiler operated by pressing a button which runs a small electric pump? Also interested to hear how you like the Schuberth. I like the idea of having an integrated tinted visor, clip out lining, and single finger release mechanism. Just wonder about wind noise. I have a Nolan flip face right now and it's not bad. Is the ride you're going on Ron Ayre's HyderSeek 2002? It's the 10/48 IB ride (10 days/48 states) that ends in Hyder Alaska (bonus points for Alaska) on June 1st. I'm not riding in it, but will be there to greet the riders in Hyder. It's about a 1500km ride each way and our club has several members that go up and back each year for the weekend (leave Friday 6 am and return Sunday about 9 pm). I was there last year when two guys from Manitoba beat Ron's record of 7 days by finishing in the wee hours of the 6th day. WOW!! And these guys were actually quite capable of carrying on a pleasant conversation when they arrived too. GWN Daren
