FWIW, when the road gets really twisty and the pavement degrades a bit, I am usually faster on the Beemer (r1150 gs) than on the GTS. More fun also, especially if you are to find a bit of sand or gravel on the road. Funny considering both bikes weigh about the same but the GS is 15 hp short. But tossing yourself into a corner from the heights of its saddle is like jumping from a roof! fun, fun, fun! I remember the guys at "La Moto" magazine did a shootout with the 1150 against some sportbike and a sport-tourer, in a variety of terrains, with telemetric data gathering and all. They came to the same conclusion in the really twisty stuff, the GS was faster and more forgiving. Of course when it straightened a bit it was left in the dust, just as there is no contest with the GTS on nice blacktop. Roberto.
