Hi Duane,

I can't offer you anything about the ABS system because mine still works on
my '93. I bought the bike new in '98 from the dealer and have tried to
follow the lists recommendations for flushing intervals. I have also just
switched to synthetic fluid in hopes that I won't have to deal with
Yamaha.....sounds like a royal PITA!

I wish you all the best in your recovery and hope that Yamaha acknowledges
your ABS problem.

Subject: GTS ABS Failure Assistance Requested

Hello everyone,

I'm pursuing legal action against Yamaha for the failed ABS system on my GTS
and I am hoping that the group can help me with gathering some information.

1. Does anyone know of anyone other than myself that has been injured as a
result of a failure of the GTS ABS system?

2. Has anyone been gathering any statistical information on the number of
failed GTS ABS pumps experienced by members of the group and whether or not
those pumps were replaced by Yamaha under warranty or otherwise?

3. If your own GTS ABS pump has failed, would you please e-mail me the
particulars surrounding that failure including what action was taken by
Yamaha?

Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I can be
e-mailed at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and my telephone number is 478-328-8074.
If you have information that you could mail me (I'm being hopeful here),
please e-mail or telephone me and I will give you my address.

For those of you wondering about my injury, it turns out that when the front
ABS on my GTS failed I completely tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)
in my left knee and severely strained many of the other tendons and
ligaments in that area. On the 12th of March I had surgery to replace the
torn ACL with a graft from my left patella tendon and the recovery process
has been extremely challenging. After many more months of physical therapy
I hope to have close to a full recovery, however as things are now, walking
is very difficult and riding the GTS is a physical impossibility (my leg
won't bend far enough to reach the footpeg).

Again, thank you again for any assistance that you can provide.

Sincerely,
Duane Sutton
