Rick, I've had similar experiences with dealerships in the past and it has influenced (appropriately or not) my opinion of all shops. I will do everything possible NOT to take my bike into a dealership. They all seem pretty much equally inept to me. It seems they have no problem charging professional rates, but can't seem to do professional workmanship.
Sorry to hear that you have had similar experiences. Than goodness this list exists with all of its helpful and experienced members. They know far more about the GTS than any Yam dealer I've ever talked to. Problem is that it'll just be my word against theirs. Plus, I get really angry when I think about that loser shop for too long. I don't like being angry. I'll just chalk it up as an expensive learning experience. I will never take my bike to any shop for repairs again.
