Folks, consider this an unabashed plug for the Sportbike Rally in Parry Sound. Great fun, great roads and some really neat bikes you just don't see everyday (my GTS apparently fit into that category). It's also neat to see a community (and the Law) get completely behind a gathering of motorcyclists; everybody will bend over backwards to get you what you need. There were roughly 900 bikes in attendance, mostly sportbikes but the sport/touring group was well represented also, due in part to the BMW national rally in Trenton ONT this week. Besides, you've got to love a rally where they give you an area map with roads graded by fun factor and by surface condition. I want a Canadian Tire store in my neighborhood too, please! If anyone wants more info about the rally or the area, contact me off-list and/or see the website at
Shawn P's retreat is awesome and about 40 minutes from the rally. #2, consider this my reservation request for next year. Thanks to you and your wife for the hospitality; greatly appreciated. Next year I look forward to sipping a few of those fine Canadian brews from out on the point. Since I've finally used up my stash of Fram oil filters (they fit 4 of my bikes), I'd like to try a PureOne. Anybody got the model number handy? P.S. to Matt Attwood - Ya shoulda said something earlier! I was as close as Flint on Sunday and would have been glad to oblige you. You probably saw either Carlos Tonda or I at Road America; I'm a 'big feller' and although I've never met him I understand Carlos is also.
