Never believe indicated speeds...Cycle World says the FZ1 does 154 mph (248
kph)...

The pithy ruminations from rkvs on
<Re: What About The FZ1?> were:
=> It's probably 10 mph faster (even more than that if it was red, John ;^))

I can tell you that the FZ1 is more than 10MPH faster than the GTS. My
parrot*
has been riding recently with someone who's got a beautiful silver FZ1... My
parrot was doing a sustained indicated 220kph, and the bike was still
pulling.
The guy on the FZ1 was moving faster enough that he was literally out of
sight
of my parrot...he says the speedo indicated 240kph. He claims that the FZ1
tops
out at almost 260KPH. More to the point, it's a really pretty bike!

My parrot could probably have squeezed another few [MK]ph out of the faster
blue
GTS, but it was already at about 9K RPM. If you remove the mirrors and run
the
engine up higher, I think you'd get about an indicated 140MPH out of the
GTS,
but very little more.
