Doug, Could it be because its a ventilated disc? Do any other Yamahas (or any bikes for that matter) use a ventilated disc?

My thought was to go down to the local boneyard and pick one up from a Vmax or an FJ, but I'm now uncertain if that's a good idea or not. I solicit your (hopefully informed) opinions.
