I was looking at the FJR1300 Yamaha had at their tent at the vintage races @ Mid Ohio last weekend. You can change the oil filter without removing any fairing bits (some designer's gonna get fired) but it sticks straight out the side of the bike and is located over a rib in the casting. I think it is going to be very difficult to change the filter without making a mess of the side of the engine.
I've often wondered why designers don't take maintenance into account when they create something. By the way as someone else mentioned, the leg position is not very friendly to a 50something. Just a couple of minutes sitting on it & I started getting pain in the hips. Bill
