Hi John , The Cat Converter is probably stuck on the down pipes , it may help to loosen the down pipe top clamps and give them each in turn a good wiggle at the Cat Converter joint , to break their grip , i don't think you need to remove the lower frame rails and i wouldn't recommend it as they act as a brace for the main frame . I have to say that you could be heading for problems , by removing the cat for cleaning , unless yours is in good condition , as they do have a habit of breaking around the cat / down pipe joint , if badly rusted .
