Hi John:

You can don't need to "tap" into anything. You can attach one of the
screw-in spigots that comes with the kit (#5 or 6 on the drawing I have) to
the right-most Vacuum Check Bolt (see page 3-23) of the manual (this is for
bikes sold in the USA--YMMV) and are fuel injected, though I'd guess that
even carbureted bikes will have the same check bolt in the same place. The
one you want to attach to is on the right side of the engine, as the bike is
facing forward, but you'll have to take the right side cowling off to get at
it. There are 4 of the these bolts and they're on the back side of the
engine, between the engine and the gas tank. If I am not mistaken they are
below where the air filter runs attach for each cylinder--somebody correct
me if I'm wrong, please.

Normally the holes have a regular bolt screwed into them as they are only
used for tune-ups. However that's the best and easiest place to attach the
vacuum line for the SO. Then run the vacuum line up the right side of the
bike, using wire-ties to clamp it to the frame rails.

When I set mine up, I had actually run the vacuum line up the left side, but
going up the right side is MUCH easier and makes for a cleaner installation.
