The motorcycle specific oils have always been a waste of money in the past,
but with the latest introduction of SL energy conserving motor oils they
might be worth another look. With that said, I'll continue using Mobil 1
15w50 because it's not listed as an energy conserving oil, meaning that
although it meets SL specs. it doesn't meet ILSAC GF-3 specs. This is a
GOOD thing! I've had nothing but great results with Mobil 1 in my cars as
well as my motorcycles. Motul and Amsoil are also excellent oils!

Thanks.  And actually, I got the service manual.  I looked through the
cowling pages but did not see anything that really stood out on how to
do it.

What is the preferred oil among the group here?
