One of the problems about that, though, is that folks tend to be clustered around the coasts, east or west. Meeting in the middle seems a logical choice, but it is hard to find an interesting riding site in the middle. So, does one risk losing the east or west coast groups? One could take a poll and find out the number of riders on each coast and bias the site closer/farther according to that, but I've found over the years that planning a gather by democracy doesn't work. "If you plan it, they will come (or not)" seems to be the phrase that pays, for gatherings. So to make something like this happen, a Pooh-Bah needs to step forth and make it happen. Said Pooh-Bah must select a site, select a date, and weather the slings and arrows of his/her peers as everyone belches forth many varied reasons why all selections are bad. The Pooh-Bah must gather committments to attend, monies to pay for the event, arrange lodging, food, beer. Sub-Pooh-Bahs should be appointed to plan rides, ensure coffee, pick the beer. Waivers should be collected to avoid legal trouble. I suggest summer, next year. As to where, the Pooh-Bah will decide. I'll go, if at all possible, no matter where. Heck, I just rode up to Montreal the other week for the weekend (3,000miles/round trip). I'll go anywhere. I would love to see this happen, it sounds like a real hoot. No one gets to complain about my dirty bike, though. Or about the missing bits, or stange sounds. :-) Take care, Mike -- Michael Weaver (706)542-6462 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Engineering Services EITS University of Georgia, Athens Ga. )O( Public PGP key: http://www.arches.uga.edu/~weaver/pgp.html
