Trail Ridge Road through the Rocky Mountain National Park and the road to the top of Mount Evans are normally open on Memorial Day. Early June is a good time, before it gets too hot.
I'd suggest basing ourselves somewhere central like Frisco. The rides options are endless but two I'd suggest from Frisco would be: 1) Frisco, Leadville, Independence Pass, Aspen, Cabondale, Mclure Pass, Hotchkiss, lunch at the Mad Dog Ranch in Crawford, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Gunnison, Buena Vista, Frisco. I'm sure Rob will want to stop in at Buena Vista for his favorite vomit flavored soup again ;-) 2) Frisco, Keystone, Loveland Pass, top of Mount Evans and back, Peak to Peak Hwy to Estes Park (lunch), Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake, Winter Park, Georgetown, Frisco. These are 250-350 mile rides, both crossing the continental divide four times and packed with spectacular roads and scenery. I wonder if we'd break the 38 GTS record? Hey Joe, I don't think I shared the food poisoning story with the group, but the last time in Colorado I was the only one of three of us at supper to have hot & sour soup (that I didn't come close to finishing because it tasted weird). That night in Buena Vista, CO both ends had a Buena Vista of the toilet seat. I can't think of a more lousy ride than the next day stopping every 50 miles to pull the helmet off and puke on the side of the road. Joe, Baj, & Guy were easy on me that day.
