Okay, it's been about eight months since I've updated the
GTS phone book. I see we have a lot of new people on the
list, so it's tine to update it again.
Why does such a thing exist? So that those who travel can hook
up with other GTSers on the road, and can also get travel ideas
before going to a particular place.
For the new people (and those old-timers who can't remember),
here's how it works. I keep it, I maintain it. Anyone who
wants to be in it, can be. The only way you can get a copy
of it is to be part of it. This is not posted publicly on
the web, it is not provided to anyone not part of the book.
This isn't to be selfish, it's simply a way of protecting those
listed. There are unlisted phone numbers and addresses in it.
The fields in the spreadsheet are as follows (and I'd request that
you simply use this section of my email to submit your info):

Home Phone:
Home Address:
City:
State:
ZIP code:
Country:
Email address:
Web Site:
Can you provide lodging?
Can you provide Garage/Tools?
Can you provide Truck/Trailer/Towing?
Notes:
Now, the "Notes" field is for things like:
"Don't call during daylight hours, I work nights"
"My numbers are unlisted, don't give them out."
"I can provide lodging, but only with lots of advance warning."
That kind of thing. It's NOT for:
"The GTS Rocks!"
"I have heli-bars, MEZ4s, and a clearview shield."
The notes field isn't very long, so please be brief. If needed, I'll
be brief for you. ;-)
If you don't want to provide information for all the fields, fine.
Any field you leave blank will stay blank in the phone book. This
includes email address- I won't assume you want it in there and take
it from the message header.
But just providing name and email address so you can get a copy
of the book won't cut it. This is a participation thing.
So, if you want to be in it, let me know by PRIVATE EMAIL.
Do NOT reply to the list, or your info will be seen by all.
Note that this is not just US, but ANYONE who looks through the
archives. And not everyone who looks at mail archives have
honorable intentions. (okay, I have a little cynicism in me)
People who are currently in the book, but have changed any of
the above items in the last year and a half (email address,
moved, etc.) please send me your updates. If any current
participants want to be removed from the list, please let me
know that too.
Currently the book represents 93 GTSers in 11 Countries. I expect
that to jump when the new(er) people join in. Okay everyone,
try to fill my mailbox! :-)
