Its Yamaha's way of doing throttle bypass air at idle when cold. Fast idle unit manual page II-79. Its mounted under the throttle linkage , where the cables attach. There is no factory adjusment, different mounting of the unit or changing the length of the plunger are your choices. Jerry Wills
