They'll be louder alright, my GTS was without the top piece of the fairing and the stock airbox in place. One major disadvantage would be hot air getting injected instead of cooler air from the sides. Cool air is more dense = more power.
I'd venture to guess the K&N filters in the stock box would be better and/or modifying the stock box to flow more. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Derek Baylor" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> K&N filter podsAnyone out there with the individual K&N filter pods on their GTS be willing to share their opinions? I actually just bough the filter for the R1 that needs modifying to fit the GTS, but now I'm thinking of returning it and doing the pods instead. I like the idea of losing the airbox and the hassle of having to remove it to get at the engine. My big concern is noise, are the pods significantly louder? Thanks for you input. -Derek [EMAIL PROTECTED]
