Just curious as to the mileage on your GTS and what type of road grime has it been subject to. I have a 93 US GTS with 52,000 miles on it and down pipes are in perfect condition. I do live in Florida, NOT by the sea, so my bike has only been ridden through rain storms at the worst. Thanks.
Peter, my mileage is not high, about half yours. The big problem in the UK is the use of salt to clear the roads in sub-zero temperatures, plus in London the sheer amount of urban filth and grime on the roads (no I don't mean the mini-cab drivers) which is flung up by the wheel and sticks to the pipes and front of the engine round the oil filter. Really one ought to wash the underside of the bike every week, but somehow I never get around to it.
It's not the downpipes that are the problem, mine are I think still fine, it's the front of the mild steel collector box / catalyst housing that rots away, where the downpipes enter. A replacement collector box / catalyst housing would probably fix my exhaust problem just as well, I can't remember the price of it but it was I believe a lot more than the Renegade system. ============================== David Thurgate (for Name-Shop) http://www.name-shop.co.uk/ [EMAIL PROTECTED] / [EMAIL PROTECTED] +44 [0]20 77035349 +44 [0]794 1158849
