A lot of spray brake cleaners will destroy the O rings and any other plastic type things. Best to find a spray electronic switch cleaner. They are much more expensive but will not dissolve synthetic plastic stuff. I found this out on another vehicle. It was more expensive to have the unit replaced than a can of good cleaner.
