Umm, I will have to disagree Ken, but see if this is the same stuff as your "spray electronic switch cleaner". I used a good electronic contact cleaner that was supposed to be perfectly safe on plastics, on my remote controlled race car. Got some on the lexan cover, and it attacked the plastic in a major way. It did not disolve it, but rather made it brittle and weak, and it fell apart.
Not a huge deal, replacement covers were only $10, and I had to paint it. Not like a GTS body piece. -----Original Message----- From: Ken Swartz [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, December 06, 2002 5:57 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Front ABS tested successfully In a message dated 12/6/2002 1:16:36 AM Eastern Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: > I think one or more pistons on my front caliper > are somewhat sticky- I'll have to attack it with brake cleaner > and see if they'll free up. > What ever stuff you buy to clean it with READ THE LABEL! A lot of spray brake cleaners will destroy the O rings and any other plastic type things. Best to find a spray electronic switch cleaner. They are much more expensive but will not dissolve synthetic plastic stuff. I found this out on another vehicle. It was more expensive to have the unit replaced than a can of good cleaner. Ken in Va.
