Walt,
I've run the D220's & the D207's. I'm sold on the
MeZ4's. They don't cup with proper pressure and my
mileage life is fantastic. I'm now on my 3rd set and
consistently getting 11-13,000 miles per set and I
ride moderately hard. 80-90mph interstate cruising,
60-120 back-road blasting. The handling is not quick
but more consistant to the design intent of the GTS.
I've mentioned this before on line, but I met the
Metz.
rep at the Hoot and he showed me pictures of factory
testing of the MeZ4's. Testing was done on the GTS!
It was after that when I changed to the Metz. and
have been well satisfied since.
On the issue of oil, I've used M1 since break-in.
That was 52,000 miles ago. I think I'm in a minority
with this one but my GTS consumes 4oz. per 3,000
miles.
It seems to me that your bike has an appetite for oil.
I don't know how many miles you have on your GTS, but
you may be ready for a top end job. Hppy & safe
riding.
