Traction - I can't say for sure. I never rode my GTS with much tire sliding.
I will say that wet weather traction was better than the D207/D205 combo I
ran before. The ABS seems to kick in later in the rain.

How is the traction? I've heard a number of distrubing anecdotes about
crashes by bikes using the MeZ4s. Most of those involved cold and/or rainy
conditions.

I had a crash due to loss of traction on my VX800 while wearing MeZs (I
can't remeber if they were the 4s or not). I had been running Macadam tires
up 'till I cut one open in Pa with some metal in the road (that was fun!).
I've now got a Macadam 90 on the front and a Dunlop D207 on the back (it
was what the dealer in Pa had. Beggars and choosers).

The dealer was very harsh about the Michelins, he didn't like them at all.
His thinking was that the sidewalls on the Michelins were very weak
compared to the others (like Dunlop, his fave). I hand tested the sidewall
strength of both my new (but ruined) Macadam 100 rear and the new Dunlop
D207 rear and there was a remarkable difference in the sidewall strength. I
don't know what this translates to in terms of performance or safety, but
it was quite noticable.

I enjoyed the Metzlers up until the crash, but I've been leary of them ever
since. I've been considering switching to Dunlops, possible the D220 or
D205s for the next set of tires.

I know, y'all hate the 'dreaded tire thread' but hey, the tires change all
the time. We need to renew our thoughts, eh? :-)

Take care,
Mik
