Guys,I need your motorcycle opinion. I love my GTS, but I've been looking for a classic to add to my stable. I grew up on Triumphs and always had a soft spot for the 1975 T160 Trident. My rational is that I would use the Triumph for local riding around town, commute to work in the winter (I live in Florida where summers are too hot to ride) with an occasional Sunday ride. All sport touring would be handled by the GTS because that's what it was designed for and does it superbly. My dellema is this, I found basically a NEW almost 30yr.old 1975 Triumph T160 on Ebay. My only problem with it is asking price... non negotiable $8,0000.00. BTW it did not recieve ONE bid.At first I thought the seller was on crack but then I thought that a 2002-3 Norton is going for $17-18,000.00. If you look at it that way, the T160 is about $10,000 cheaper than the Norton. I realize that the Norton is build and wired to 03 technology and that the "new" Triumph is 30 yr. old technology. I'm trying to figure, if I am stupid enough to pay the asking price, will the value appreciate around 2005+ when it will be 30yrs. old at which time the value will be somewhere about even of what I paid for it. The Triumph now has 175 miles on it, not even broken in yet. I plan to put about 1,000 miles a year on it.So my question is, am I paying to much for a "new" 30 yr. old Triumph or is it a fair price? Other T160's of the same year with 10k miles are bring about $4-4,500.00. This T160 is nearly twice that amount. What do you think? Thanks. -Pete
