How is the traction? I've heard a number of distrubing anecdotes about
crashes by bikes using the MeZ4s. Most of those involved cold and/or rainy

Hey, I hope I not the only source of this Internet rumour!

Who else had said this about MeZ4s?

I have posted to the list before on this subject, and I stand by it, I have
had a couple of wild moments on cold mornings with the MeZ4s. Since April
I've been going round with a 120/60 Conti on the front, it seems to be a
softer compound - it's worn a lot quicker and the tread wasn't so deep to
start with, but I had more confidence in it in the cold/wet (plus I
preferred the rounder profile).

I've just had to put the MeZ4 back on, it's not quite so bad with 40 psi
instead of the 36 psi that Metzeler recommend. They may have used GTS1000s
for testing but I reckon they never rode one around a wet city in the
winter - I have a mental picture of them waiting for a nice dry day to
thrash the bike round the Nurburgring, then saying "Ja, sehr gut!" and
going on to the next bike . . .
