Kevin, and everyone else................
IN the event that YMUS does not have a part in stock and has to get it out of
Japan, or YMC, it is always a possibility that YMC is also out of stock. If
YMC is out of stock, they have to order it from their vendor that makes that
part for them. If the vendor is out of stock, and has to stop what he was
doing and make one/some.......... it takes time. Hence, the 2 ~ 3 weeks may
in reality have been a provisionally safe answer to account for factors
beyond their control. It does not mean the part will be airborne for 2 ~3
weeks.
Someone else commented that they were trying to get a hold of Yamaha special
tools. Today I received a new catalog for Yamaha special tools and it looks
like K&L is now the new distributor. It was an extremely low key transition
and the accompanying letter was very matter of fact about now contacting K&L
about getting special tools, No more mention of Kent Moore/SPX corp. for
special tools. As far as being able to get special tools from them, consider
that doubtful since our bike has been out of production for 10 yrs and Yamaha
probably isn't interested in sending them prints to make tools from on tools
that didn't sell when they were current models.
