Depends entirely on your definition of character. I really like the old Brit roadsters, first car I bought (in 1969) was a 1960 AH 3000. Served me well in high school. Have had others--MGB, TR6--and must admit that my friend's 1994 Miata, bought new and now with 100k on the clock, is a delightful reminder of my younger days. I still suspect the day will come when I plunk down the cash for one myself.
Yes, lots of other things these days are "faster" (in a straight line at least), but for sheer fun, this thing is really hard to beat. And reliable. And stylish. And the top goes down. Trunk isn't too much smaller than the large Krauser bags (obligatory GTS content).
