TextSecure and Signal are Free Software. WhatsApp and friends aren't
as far as I know - is that incorrect? Or did other tools like WhatsApp
and friends become verifiable and Free Software recently?

TextSecure and Signal also allow you to verify keys - which at the
moment isn't an option in WhatsApp, even for casual but curious users.
Or users who upon checking may realize that they're living in a
different world than they realized....
