La verdad no estoy de acuerdo en lo que decís. Es verdad, trabajo para
Microsoft, pero creo que a esta altura ya todos saben que mantengo el
sentido crítico bastante alto (por lo menos lo saben acá adentro, donde
siempre se agarran la cabeza, pero al final me aguantan).

Microsoft no dejó de desarrollar VFP porque no le genere plata. Para el
caso, .NET mismo tampoco le genera un mango (el framework es gratis, hay
versiones Express de Visual Studio y SQL Server, etc). Lo que Microsoft gana
es apoyo al desarrollo sobre su plataforma. Y .NET es el modelo de
desarrollo que Microsoft necesitaba para ponerse al día, no VFP.

Así que vuelvo a la misma pregunta de siempre ¿Qué es lo que quiere la
comunidad de VFP respecto a la tecnología? Sigo viendo en esta lista y en un
montón de otros lados gente que ni siquiera está usando VFP 9 y por otro
lado, otros generan compiladores de VFP con características novedosas y
nadie les da bolilla.

La verdad es que VFP 9 tiene montones de prestaciones y se puede usar
todavía por muchísimo tiempo sin grandes contratiempos para sistemas de baja
complejidad. Pero el paradigma de desarrollo cambió. Si uno no quiere
cambiar, puede mantenerse todavía con las misma herramientas, pero no
entiendo todavía el pataleo.
