The Scotland international has attracted interest from several clubs after an impressive start to his time in the Premier League with the newly-promoted Seasiders. Aston Villa are already believed to have tabled an offer of £3.5m before the Reds joined the race to sign the 25-year-old this week. It is no surprise that the Tangerines turned down Liverpool's bid after manager Ian Holloway made it clear he wanted to keep Adam at Bloomfield Road beyond the January transfer window. “He has signed a contract and someone can come in, but it’s not his choice and it’s not their choice,” said Holloway. “He belongs to us and he is contracted for 18 months. "You have to behave with respect and not all players do that sometimes, but that is the way the game is. “I think he is still improving, I think he belongs to us and if someone wants to offer money I think they are wasting their time because we don’t need to sell him at the moment." Holloway may be forced to reconsider should Liverpool respond by increasing their offer, with the proceeds of the sale likely to be incredibly valuable as Blackpool look to strengthen their squad in an attempt to replicate their form so for this campaign going into the last four months of the season. But whether Liverpool will up their bid is unclear, with the club already believed to be in negotiations for Ajax captain Luis Suárez and Aston Villa winger Ashley Young – both of whom could cost upwards of £20m. Speaking to Canal Sport, Liverpool's director of football strategy Damien Comolli admitted the Reds' interest in both Suárez and Young. He said: “We are looking primarily for an offensive player because the team is short on pace, “And as far as Suarez is concerned, at the moment there is no dialogue with Ajax. He is one of the players we are interested in. Will he be available in January? This is another story. “For Young, if he is on the market then we will be interested."
