Brad Pitt’s production company will produce Glee creator’s new script. Brad’s company Plan B Entertainment has signed on to produce Ryan Murphy’s screenplay The Normal Heart. Ryan created television shows Nip/Tuck and Glee and also directed 2010 film starring Julia Roberts Eat, Pray, Love. He will direct and serve as producer for The Normal Heart.
The film is an adaptation of a semi-autobiographical play written by Larry Kramer. The play follows an activist in the 1980s who struggles to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS. Actors Ellin Barkin and Joe Mantello starred during the show’s stretch on Broadway this year. Mark Ruffalo is in talks to take on a role in the film adaptation. Ryan recently produced Glee: The 3D Concert movie. Mark has starred in 2010’s comedy-drama The Kids Are All Right.
