Well, true, but not necessarily. I run Exodus on a Mac, only allow connections from localhost, and all connections to the server are via an ssh tunnel. So unless someone hacks the server and inserts something between the application (whatever it is) and the IO stream, it's pretty secure. Of course, if they can do that, it's all over anyway. Not to say X is the way to go, however. And yes, there are both SSH and X clients (servers?) for Mac and the Redmond Virus. On my Mac, I spread across two 1152x870 monitors :) I even picked up a control panel called Sloop that changes focus as I pass over windows, so my Mac apps act more like X - saves context switching my brain.
