I'll give you the counterpoint to this. Many people that take
part on
Guix do it outside their job, which means they are more active
during
evenings or weekends. Friday evening is a great moment for
hacking.
Tell your employer to keep us in the paycheck, so we can stop
doing it
at nights, and weekends.

(but also, now I think about it, I may have a point here!)
Employment doesn't factor in it.
Do we really want to give the impression that we don't care
whether we break third-party channels? We are also talking about
a specific type of contribution, namely the removal of variables,
which breaks channels that reference them. This is different from
adding variables, which you would still be very welcome to push on
a Friday night.
