By August period do you mean Outreachy's 'Mid-year' period, with the
contribution sub-period from March to April, and the internship
sub-period from May to August. Or did you mean Outreachy's 'End of year'
period, with the contributions sub-period in October, and the internship
sub-period from December to March.
Seems like the end of year period is the only option for those of us in
the Southern hemisphere, and I have missed the cutoffs for internship
applications by ~2 weeks for the mid-year period regardless.
The end of year period is much better suited to my university schedule,
but if you were intending to work with Outreachy for the current
mid-year period then I don't think they'd accept me at all.
In such a case maybe I should just dedicate more personal time to
working on guix without such a formal system.
Additionally, the project might benefit more from finding other young
people who were not previously aware of guix to participate through
Outreachy, and this might be a better return on the presumably small
budget for programs like this.
