Hi everyone,
As a (very late) reminder, our next release meeting is taking place
later today (in my timezone at least):
Sunday 18 October, 17:00 UTC

I probably can't join today. Here a small update from my side.

One thing I 'complained' about last week is all the warnings we see due
to moved packages. And I volunteered to make an issue for them, because
I think those warnings should not be visible to end users.
As in, I think warnings should be actionable by the person seeing the
warning. That is, there should be something the reader can do to remedy
the warning. And these warnings generally are not actionable.
Now while I consider the difference between 'user' and 'developer' to be
thin, I could not actually reproduce those warnings for commands that
are on the 'user' side of guix.
That is, `guix search abcde` or `guix install abcde` show no warnings.
But `guix refresh -l abcde` does. Most people will not call `refresh
-l`. This difference seems acceptable to me, so I have not created the
issue.
Note that these are the "WARNING: (gnu packages hardware): `pegtl'
imported from both (gnu packages cpp) and (gnu packages
compiler-tools)"-warnings from guile.
The deprecation warnings from Guix itself seem to have disappeared; the
'libcamera' deprecation has been fixed (because the deprecation period
passed), and I cannot seem to trigger warnings for the other deprecations.
So warning-wise, I think we are good to go.

P.S. I used 'abcde' just as an easy to type example, and I also tried
`guix lint` (didn't show warnings), and that complained that the
homepage has disappeared. Apparently abcde is abandonware, but there is
a fork on https://github.com/poddmo/abcde, so now I feel 'obligated' to
fix the abcde package. And I feel empowered to do so; such is the
(good) life of a Guix user.
