Mandrake Linux 8.1 Password/Account Vulnerability

 Problem:

A vulnerability exists within Mandrakesoft's Mandrake Linux v. 8.1 (and
possibly other
versions) where any accounts created after the initial install of the
O/S do not have
MD5 encrypted passwords. This also affects any account passwords that
are changed
after the initial install. This could result in a system that is less
secure than what
 would be ideal.

 Solution:

Security fixes to address this issue are available at Mandrakesoft's
website. If you
