14 beauties to vie for July Rose title

FOURTEEN women have so far signed up for the annual July Rose beauty pageant. Organiser, show host and director Albert Gayo said more women are welcome to join this year's contest, which will be held at the Baan Saeng Thai auditorium on July 29. "So far the nationalities of the women who have signed up include Indian, Ethiopian, Filipina, American, Thai and British," he revealed. This is the pageant's 10th year. Beauty, personality, talent and intelligence are some of the criteria to select the winner. All contestants will be trained the basic catwalk and grooming by Mr Gayo. Last year's winner was Sweta Joshi, who was also crowned as the 2003 Indian Club May Queen and represented Bahrain in the international beauty pageant 13th Annual Miss India World-Wide Pageant in California, US, last September. Jewellery, electronic items and gift vouchers will be given away to the winners. Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets are priced at BD3, inclusive of a buffet dinner.
