| Festival finals underway | |||
MANAMA/18 May 2005 FINALS of the Indian School's youth festival Rithu 2005 officially kicked off last night at the school, in Isa Town. Preliminary selections for the competition are over and more than 2,600 students are vying for top honours. The official opening took place at the school's Jashanmal auditorium and chief guest was GDN news editor Amira Al Hussaini. The finals, which are being contested by six houses, will continue until next Thursday and the grand finale will be held on May 27. Students will compete in individual and group events on behalf of their respective houses. Categories range from elocution, poem recitation (in English, Hindi, Arabic), classical dance, mono act, fancy dress and more. | |||
