7-a-side Football Tournament
organized by AVC-
In the finals AVC-Kuwait swampe United Friends (B) 4-0. The presentation ceremony was led by the Chief Guest V.K. Vohra, Manuel DCosta (KIFF President), Marcus Pacheco (famed Goan Coach), John Furtado (AVC-Kuwait President), and Braz of
AVC.
The Man of the Finals judged by the panel of guests was awarded to Jimmy of AVC whereas U.G. Centre bagged the Fair Play trophy. Special memento was given to Cipriano for being the oldest player on Soor grounds still active with Veterans United.
In the run up to the finals AVC
Displaying sublime skills and stamina inspite being made to play one extra game due to the courtesy of KIFF officials, the young brigade of AVC continued their fine form and were simply unstoppable in the finals to forge 3-0 up before the breather. Jimmy, Braulio and Edward moved in tandem to attack the rivals where young striker Steven showed determination. Captain Vincy and Liston were rock solid in defense and new find Jose was marvelous under the bar with the inspirational Francis keeping the team webbed together with his experience and skills.
For UFC stalwart Sarto Baptista (also President of IFRA) was the sole mastermind for the moves and was instrumental in keeping the score to the minimum. Determination and team effort was in ample display with AVC.
