Sue here.... Yes that is my name, yes I'm a girl/women/lady/female.
(Like you didn't know that already.
:)
5'4" and.... well, a lady doesn't tell her weight, but I'm...heavy.
Contrary to popular belief I'm 36.
:)
Also, I just can't seem to stay out of school. I've a technical diploma
in Chemistry, a honours degree in genetics, and two years towards a
microbiology degree we won't discuss further. Currently, I'm working on
a masters degree in Plant Biology studying fiber development while
working full time in an agricultural genetics lab (yes, I'm insane). I
have a heavy background in first aid and chemical spill response
protocols due to my time on my companies emergency response team. I also
(about 15 years ago) was completing all the pre-courses for becoming a
wilderness guide/backcountry rescue work... which got sidetracked but I
still have a weird knowledge of wilderness survival and wilderness first
aid from then). Due to all my freakish chemistry/first aid background
I'm probably the person who answers the poisons (and occasionally
virology) questions that come up on GURPSnet list (I leave the medical
side of it to vk). I also have "issues" with cloning discussions and
fake genetics/forensics seen in movies/tv.
I live on an acreage in rural Alberta (pretty north of most of the
list), and spend most of my spare time gaming, gardening, and SCAing
(yes I'm one of those medievalist geeks).
:)
Gaming wise... I was part owner/manager of a gaming/hobby store so I've
run and played most games that existed between 1994 and 1997. I mostly
run 50% fantasy, 40% cyberpunk, 10% other. I will play pretty much any
game but don't particularly like hack and slash (unless it's run in a
tongue in cheek manner) or games where the GM railroads the players.
I am happily single, with 2 cats.
I play flute, piano, and am learning violin. I like reading
(bibliophile) and shakespeare, B-grade sci-fi, and horror movies. I
don't watch or play sports (aside from once being big into back country
hiking, rock climbing, and cycling - which I no longer do).
Disadvantages are bad sight (far sight, astigmatism ), Weight, Sense of
Duty (friends and family), Shyness, quirk level dyslexia and probably a
few others... possibly Intolerance for "stupid people" and fundamentalists.
I'm not as involved on the list as I once was, due to my lack of
'gearishness and my insane schedule. I miss the range of posts that
showed up on the list prior to the forums, but prefer the list to the
forums because I don't have time to keep up with the volume of posts on
the forums, and would rather read a long and involved post on an
interesting topic then the one or two line drivel followed by many me
too's that seems common to any forums that I've had dealings with (GURPS
or otherwise).

PS: When I do write I tend to ramble
PPS: I also maintain a website, mostly for my campaigns (it has frames
and I haven't set it up with a non-frames option yet... which may cause
a error for some browsers).
