This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. With a slight delay, old vehicles appear
at http://omeyer.gmxhome.de/GURPSnet_files/summary.html

LSP AC7 Skitrack v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL8)
  Copyright 2006 by Onno Meyer

On some of the 11,00 worlds of the Imperium, even the equatorial zones
are frigid. There, skitracks are just as common – and just as vital – as
they were in the remote northern areas of 20th century Earth.
The Ling Standard Products AC7 is a two-seat model. The driver and the
passenger sit over the engine/transmission and the track, with the small
cargo box under the seat padding, a fuel tank in front of the driver and
motorcycle-style controls. At high speed the ride can be bumpy, but the
compact AC7 handles well on narrow forest trails.
At routine travel speed, the engine burns 0.45 gallons of gasoline or
diesel per hour. A full load of diesel is $12.

Subassemblies: Body +0, Skitrack +0.
Powertrain: 15-kW tracked drivetrain; 15-kW ceramic engine; 1,000-kWs

Design Notes
Body is 6 cf. Skitracks are 6 cf (increased volume). Structure is
light and standard. Self-sealing tank. Body armor is standard metal,
track armor is non-rigid. Mechanical controls. Empty weight is 320 lbs.
The TL8 vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [2nd edition, 3rd
printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXi and VXii (the armor volume rule) with
the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller rules affect the
background but not the technology of this design.

Next Week: A TL7 spaceship by Eric.
