You could give him Signature Gear: My Holy Sword (Pact), and Payload (Cosmic, Pact, Preparation Required (only to remove items, half cost), Cost 2 FP (only to remove items, half cost), Accessability: only to stow My Holy Sword, probably -80%) You could handle the "only for one combat before despawning" thing as part of the pact...
