In 4e, a paladin-type PC wants to perform a brief ritual (which costs 2 FP) to conjure up a flaming magical sword that will stay around for a whole combat (a minute or two), and then disappear. To use the sword again, he must perform the ritual again. In between times, the sword is inaccessible - it's in another dimension, whatever. How would you write this up using Basic Set and Powers? It's clearly and innate attack, but Switchable, Takes Extra Time, or Preparation Required don't seem to quite do this. Am I missing something?
How about Snatcher? It already takes ten seconds of concentration (ritual) and costs 2 FP, and the items only last until you summon another or will it away. Make it specialized (Only Flaming Swords) and Recall (Only My Stuff) so that the only thing he can effectively call for is his sword. -- "The thing to remember about freedom is that it's not given, it's taken." --Scott Adams _______________________________________________ GurpsNet-L mailing list <[email protected]> http://mail.sjgames.com/mailman/listinfo/gurpsnet-l
